Schappert: “We Definitely Have the Power to Run MGS4″

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is without a doubt one of the best games this year and is certainly one of the best games of all time.

Only problem was that it was a PLAYSTATION 3 exclusive so there was people who made the transfer from the PlayStation 2 to the Xbox 360 who are either waiting on the game to come to the 360 or a minorty to go and get a PS3 to play the game.

And despite numorous rumors that the game will eventually come to the Xbox 360, Sony, Konami and Hideo Kojima himself has stated that the game is only possible on the PLAYSTATION 3. But now, it seems that the game is being looked at for the Xbox 360.

Maybe not Guns of the Patriots itself, but more likely the ‘Tance verison of the game something like Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance when it went to the original Xbox back in 2003 along with a PS2 and PC verison of the game.

A rep from Konami this week has said that they are looking into a Xbox 360 verison of the game despite numorous denials from Konami US and Konami UK after the said statement was said.

Now John Schappert from Microsoft, fresh from his Tokyo Games Show keynote last week, has come out saying he’d welcome Kojima’s masterpiece on the 360. He said to MCV:

“I’m certainly in the fan club that would love to see Kojima-san’s masterpiece come our way. It would be wonderful to play Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox. It could become another of the many franchises that started their life on another console that are now coming our way.

“I can’t speak on behalf of Konami, but I can shed more light on the fact that we definitely have the power to run MGS4.

“There are a lot of recent examples that are in true high-def on our platform and aren’t on PS3. We’ve got an amazing amount of horsepower and graphics power.”

One has to admit now, after this week, it’s now not a question of if it’ll come to the 360 now, it will now be a question of when.
