Killzone 3 announced; hi res screens

Well after Game Informer breaking it’s cover, Sony have finally officially unveiled Killzone 3.

Described as a battle like David vs Goliath, Killzone 3 picks off where the last game left off, with Rico and Sev having just seen the end of Scolar Visari.

Killzone 3 is also the first FPS Sony have announced that’ll be playable in 3D.

Alpha Protocol ‘Lover, Not a Fighter’ Trailer

Killzone 2 Wins Ivor Novello Award

Killzone 2 has the first ever video game to be a recipient of a prestigious Ivor Novello award.

The game was nominated for ‘Best Original Video Game Score’ alongside Empire: Total War and and Savage Moon: Waldgeist. The score was written by Joris de Man who also wrote the music for the first Killzone title.

“The Ivors has always sought to reflect the ever-changing world of songwriting and composing,” said Mark Fishlock, director of the Ivors Committee. “The video games market has matured beyond recognition and big budget orchestral scores are regularly being commissioned.”

Bethseda dev: Natal “wasted on games”

Bethseda developer Ashley Cheng has written on his blog that he believes Project Natal “seems wasted on games.”

Cheng went on to say that “Microsoft should open the Natal API up like Apple does with the iPhone/iPad” and by letting anyone make an app for Natal he can see “a killer app that has nothing to do with gaming” coming from it.

Microsoft Saudi marketing manager Syed Bilal Tariq earlier announced that Natal would see an October release.

Red Dead Redemption is most pre-ordered title on Amazon UK in 2010

Amazon UK have announced that Red Dead Redemption is their most pre-ordered title this year, with the game currently holding three of the top five positions in the video games bestsellers.

“This is undoubtedly the most hotly anticipated video game of the year so far,” said Chris Poad, Director of Video Games at Ltd. “Demand has risen significantly over the last week as excitement and buzz around the game has built, making it one of the most successful titles we have seen on this year before it has even been released.”

RDR launches May 21st in the UK on PS3 and Xbox 360. You can catch the launch trailer for the game here.

Call of Duty: Black Ops trailer
