Sony: Cross-game chat “not one of the features” of PlayStation Plus

Posted in PlayStation 3 with tags on June 16, 2010 by James Love

It was reported yesterday that cross-game voice chat was to be one of the features of PlayStation Plus as was posted on the official Sony website. We contacted Sony for clarification on the matter, and to find out whether indeed cross-game voice chat would be coming to PSN.

When we contacted Sony for confirmation of this, or whether it was an error and we were told, “We’ve just announced the PlayStation Plus service and cross game chat is not one of the features.  We said during our presentation that the service will evolve over time and therefore we won’t count anything out.”

So whilst cross-game chat may not be with us immediately, it will more than likely appear in the future.

Posted in EA, Nintendo Wii, PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , on June 11, 2010 by James Love

Harmonix have been detailing the latest information about Rock Band 3 which they say is set to be the “ultimate social and interactive music gaming platform.”

The new game will feature an 83-song setlist with classic tracks like Bohemian Rhapsody and Here I Go Again, along with more modern tracks like The Hardest Button to Button by The White Stripes.

Rock Band 3 will also allow you to import songs from previous RB titles, so you’ve got the songs from 5 other games to play too along with all the DLC that came for them, along with a huge list of songs, 2000 at launch, from the Rock Band music store.

Harmonix also are increasing the skill required for the game by offering the option of using Pro instruments to use, so drums, keyboard and guitar will have an added layer of realism to them.

The press release is after the jump.
