Square Enix have announced that Final Fantasy XIII has shipped over 5 million copies now on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 worldwide.
Square Enix Europe CEO Phil Rogers told Gamesindustry.biz that the European launch of Final Fantasy XIII has been “incredible,” and with combined sales of 96 million for the series to date expect a lot more from the Final Fantasy series to come.

The international trailer for FF XIII has been released by the chaps over at Square Enix, featuring English dubbing and the sounds of Leona Lewis. Three new screenshots have been unveiled too, check them out over at VG247.
Final Fantasy XIII launches on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 9th. Check out the trailer after the jump.
We all knew Final Fantasy XIII would be big, and today Square Enix have announced the sales figures from Japan to back it up, with the game shifting over 1 million copies in its first 24 hours of being on shelves.
The sales figures though don’t include the Lightning Edition PS3 bundle, so if you were to include those the figure would be slightly higher.

As you read this, practically all of Japan will be a third way through their first playthrough of Final Fantasy XIII.
Us Westerners, unless you want to import like myself, won’t get our hands on the game until March 2010 in a US/EU sim-ship. The question that only remains is can Final Fantasy XIII turn out to be not just one of the best RPGs of next year, but the best of next year altogether?
With Final Fantasy XIII not too far off now, more shots of the special edition PS3 that will be accompanying the game have been released.

Square Enix released the spectacuarly awesome Tokyo Game Show trailer of Final Fantasy XIII this past week.
Of course, none of us had a clue as to what they were on about as it was in Japanese. Luckully, it is now in English!

UFFS are reporting that that the Final Fantasy XIII boxart – for Japan at least – is on show at the Tokyo Game Show. Pics too.
It shows Lightning riding on the horsey version of her summon in the game, Odin, as well as the logo of the game. It’s being shown alongside the Final Fantasy XIII PS3 Slim, which was announced this morning.
