It’s that time of year again folks with E3 upon us now in a matter of weeks. Speculation is rife with what to expect from the show, so we at GOONL!NE thought we’d throw down our predictions for what we think (and would like) to appear at this years show. Some of it may be wishful thinking but hey, we can dream, right?

With the video game BAFTA’s happening this Friday, we at GOONL!NE thought we’d give you our thoughts on who could be in for what award this year.

Big hitters like Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Modern Warfare 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum all lead the way. Uncharted 2 has a staggering 9 nominations including ones for its story, score and gameplay, with Modern Warfare 2 not far behind with 8 nominations for multiplayer and use of audio.

And We’re Finished… Nearly

Posted in GOONL!NE Stuff with tags , on December 22, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

By Jonathan Cullen.

So, as you may have noticed, our final Advent Calendar entry went live earlier this morning. Basically, that was pretty much it for our shit for this year.

Our news was to stop on Friday, as planned, but we forgot about Jump Fiesta. And the fact Square Enix can surprise us sometimes. Damn you, Final Fantasy XIII for catching us off-guard.

Anyways, what I’m trying to tell you is that we’re done for the year. Finished. Finetto. Mission Complete.

Well, not quite. There is one final article to go live before Friday, and that is our Game of the Year article. Needless to say, this is the big one. The very big one.

Then after that, we’re completely done. James, David and Will take their Christmas leave until they come back, while I, of course, won’t be here for already explained reasons.

We hope you come back for the GOTY article. But other then that, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We’ll see you in the New Year! Well… not me obviously… YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!

And Its Goodbye from Me… Innit

By Jonathan Cullen.

For the past two years, managing GOONL!NE has been nothing short of incredible.

It really has been one hell of a ride. Sometimes, it hasn’t been great, but it is a fantastic experience that I have had, and one which I will treasure the most. Especially with staff like James Love, David Pitchforth and Will Swarbrick, plus our fantastic freelance contributors Jennifer Allen and Martin Gaston.

But it is time to give up this position of power for another position of power, abet a slightly less powerful position than here, but still exciting enough.

Continuous Play To Be Available Again ‘In 3 Months’

ps3 slim

Continuous Play, which is basically insurance for your Playstation 3, is set to be up and running again for new customers in 3 months, a PlayStation representative told GOONL!NE.

The Continuous Play scheme stopped taking on new customers in the middle of 2009, due to ‘fraudsters’ abusing the system. All you needed to do was pay roughly £5 a month, and if your PS3 were to get the dreaded Yellow Light, Sony would replace it free of charge. While an exact date was not given, the representative said that the service would be widely available “shortly, about 3 months or so.”

Good news for all those worrying about the health of their console, then.

‘Eyepet Online Beta’ Spotted

Eyepet

Someone let the cat-monkey-rabbit thing out of the bag…

GOONL!NE has snapped some exclusive pictures of some lucky so and so playing the Eyepet Online Beta on their PSN account. Seeing as how Eyepet has NO online play feature at all, it’s rather confusing; does this mean the 2010 American release will have online, or a patch is heading to the European versions allowing you to play with a friend’s pet over the ether? We can only speculate…

The pictures are after the jump.
