shadow of the colossusSpeaking to 1UP, Team ICO boss Fumito Ueda has said that he would like to see a ICO/Shadow of the Colossus pack for the PS3.

It comes as SCEA recently announced that God of War I and God of War II would be released together in a collection in the run-up to the release of God of War III, which has a demo of the game in the collection.

Since then, fans of the two games have been shouting for a similar collection in the run-in to The Last Guardian.

“Initially, I didn’t want to consider that. I always thought they were designed for PS2 and should stay there. But lately, I’ve been thinking it would be nice to provide the games to other platforms to reach more users,” said Ueda.

TGS 09: Ueda Hoping for a EU/Japan Simultaneous Release for Last Guardian

Posted in PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Tokyo Games Show 2009 with tags , , , on September 25, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

fumito-uedaFumito Ueda has told Eurogamer that he hopes to see a simultaneous release between Europe and Japan for The Last Guardian.

“I hope to see that, yes,” was what the Team ICO bossman said in the interview on the question. Although he refused to disclose how far the game was in development, or a specific release date, which people are assuming to be next year.

He also states how the catratdragon Trico works in the game… somewhat.

“For example, if you have access to one of Torico’s favourite foods or objects, you can throw it to a place where you wouldn’t be able to go in normal circumstances.”

New screens and a trailer were released from TGS. Find them here.

New Last Guardian Scans Get Out

Posted in PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios with tags , , , , on July 8, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

TRICOTSA’s got brand new scans of The Last Guardian, which has showed up in this week’s edition of Famitsu PS3 + PSP (note: not the main Famitsu we cover every Wednesday, a spin-off).

Truth be told, they’re stunning, abit a bit grainny from the scans. Catch them at the link.

It’s in development at Team ICO for the PLAYSTATION 3. Earlier this week, Team ICO leader Fumito Ueda had a couple of things to say about Mario Galaxy and Grand Theft Auto IV.

Ueda Takes Aim at Grand Theft Auto IV & Mario Galaxy

fumito-uedaMiyamoto and the Houser brothers better be hiding under the desk, Fumito Ueda is coming for them and their games.

The Team ICO head gave a scathing attack in an interview with Swedish magazine LEVEL, translated by GAF, saying “he expected more” as far as Super Mario Galaxy went.

Yes I have played it, it was hard to not to since it was rumored that Miyamoto-san was inspired by me. But I had expected more, that segment, was like the rest of the game not so fun as it could had been. I think the fans made a big deal out of nothing when they said Miyamoto had stolen from me.

And for course, there was Sam and Dan Houser’s masterpiece, GTA IV.

The biggest problem with the game is the lack of innovative things in the game. The graphic style impresses, but not the base premise, which is exactly the same as the predecessors.

We wouldnt dare disagree with Ueda, even though Galaxy and GTA IV are great games, considering that he has made two simply spellbinding games for the PlayStation 2, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Team ICO have The Last Guardian in development right now for the PLAYSTATION 3, due sometime next year
