Harmonix have been detailing the latest information about Rock Band 3 which they say is set to be the “ultimate social and interactive music gaming platform.”
The new game will feature an 83-song setlist with classic tracks like Bohemian Rhapsody and Here I Go Again, along with more modern tracks like The Hardest Button to Button by The White Stripes.
Rock Band 3 will also allow you to import songs from previous RB titles, so you’ve got the songs from 5 other games to play too along with all the DLC that came for them, along with a huge list of songs, 2000 at launch, from the Rock Band music store.
Harmonix also are increasing the skill required for the game by offering the option of using Pro instruments to use, so drums, keyboard and guitar will have an added layer of realism to them.
The press release is after the jump.
The PR also confirms a 2010 release for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, with the tracklist full exportable for use in Rock Band and Rock Band 2.
“We’ve worked with the Rock Band team in the past year to enable our fans to play tracks from 21st Century Breakdown, and we’re excited to now be working on a game, spanning our entire career,” said Green Day frontman, Billy-Joe Armstrong.
PR is after the break. The game was announced at the VGAs this morning.
The full album is available from Tuesday on Xbox Live Marketplace and Rock Band Shop for the Wii, and Thursday on the PS Store.
The album, which includes the classics like Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, When I’m Sixty-Four and the epic closer that is A Day in the Life, will retail for 1080 MS points on Marketplace, and £7.49 for the PS3 and Wii.
The full tracklist is after the jump.
This is the first time either band has been involved with the game, although the third time Jack White has been involved, as his side projects The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather has been in the game for a while.
White Stripes songs include Icky Thump, Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground and Girl You Have No Faith in Medicine. Kasabian’s involvement sees them use Club Foot from their self-titled debut album.
The Damned will also be involved with “Smash it Up”.
The DLC is out on Tuesday for XBLMP and Rock Band Shop for the Wii, and on Thursday for the PS3. PR after the break.
