ps3 slim

Speaking to CVG senior community manager for Insomniac James Stevenson has said it could be another two to three years before devs truly start to max out the PS3, much like how it was with the PS2.

“The first couple of years are all about developers getting games up and working. You see what Naughty Dog has had the chance to do in the past two years. You’ve seen what we’ve been able to do in that time. This is where it gets exciting” said Stevenson.

He went on to say that “The PS3 still feels like a young system… [and] I still think you’re not going to see the PS3 really maxed out for another two to three years. We’re using all of the PS3 right now, but you can always be more efficient in the way you use it.”

A new trailer, straight from PAX, has been released showing off the weapons to be found in Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time.

The trailer, set to classical music (Works as a soundtrack to anything), shows the slo-mo carnage the Ratchet can unleash, and it looks beautiful. Insomniac have always been known for their great weapons, and Crack In Time looks to cement that knowledge.

Oh, and the Groove-a-tron a back. Win.

Video after the jump.

Game’s out on October 27th.

LittleBigPlanet Web Level Portal Coming According to Media Molecule

Posted in PlayStation 3 with tags , , , , , , , , on May 21, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

Alex Evans of Media Molecule has gone and confirmed that there will be a sort of “web portal” for published level in LittleBigPlanet, thats according to 1UP (via VG247)

Evans said:

“Rather than going on forums and saying, ‘Please search for my level,’ you can just say, ‘Here’s a link’”

He was speaking at the Nordic Game Conference in Sweden, where he teased new DLC for LBP involving Ratchet & Clank (now since confirmed) with Insomniac on Twitter.

We’ll hopefully hear more on this, and the R&C DLC, at E3 in just over a week and a half from now. Portal release date is to be confirmed though.
