Speaking in Issue 38 of Official Playstation Magazine (out now), Sefton Hill replied to the question of whether gamers would see a sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum by saying this:

‘I’m not really allowed to comment on that, but there are definitely lots of exciting stories to tell in Batman’s world, and I can say that we’re really privileged to work on it, and excited about future possibilities.’

Maybe we’ll see the dank walls of Arkham Asylum again, or even a full-blown sandbox adventure in Gotham.

Final Fantasy XIIIWell, color us interested.

This past week, Famitsu put out ten brand new screens of Final Fantasy XIII, putting emphesis on a brand new party character for the game, now known as Hope Estheim. Catch the screens over there, but it seems that the voice actor of the character in the English speaking version of the game will be Everybody Hates Chris actor, Vincent Martella.

The actor, who plays Greg in the semi-official biopic TV show of comedian, Chris Rock, had the role come up in his portfolio, although if you look for it now, the listing is gone from his website.

Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIV to Appear at gamescom

Posted in Final Fantasy XIII, GamesCOM - Cologne 2009, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 with tags , on July 28, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

Final Fantasy XIIISquare Enix has announced that it’ll be bringing Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIV to gamescom in Cologne next month.

It’s the first time Square Enix will be at the event under the monkier, Square Enix Europe, since the company’s buyout of Eidos earlier in the year. Batman: Arkham Asylum, Front Mission Evolved and Mini Ninjas are a couple of other games on the list that will be in Cologne next month.

“We are delighted to be a part of GamesCom 2009,” said Phil Rogers, the new CEO of Square Enix Europe.

“As the largest European games show it is the perfect event for our newly created European organisation to showcase the combined strength of our product line up for the very first time.”

Final Fantasy XIII Voted Most Wanted Game by Readers of Famitsu

Posted in Famitsu, Final Fantasy XIII, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, Square Enix, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , , on July 9, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

Final Fantasy XIIIIn an ironic piece of buuuurn, days before the game is out in Japan, Dragon Quest IX for the DS is no longer Famitsu’s No. 1 most wanted game, that goes to another Square Enix game: Final Fantasy XIII.

The PS3 only release in Japan retook the No. 1 spot on the list, while DQIX took No. 2 on the list. Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii rounds off the top 3 at 3. Other noticeable entries include Dragon Quest X for the Wii, comes in at 4, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, a game we need to start seeing again, for the PS3 at No.6, Tales of Vesperia PS3 at 8 and, quite surprisingly considering we dont know if it’s been canned or not, the PS3 version of The Last Remnant manages to make it into the Top 10 at 10.

There’s also a whole shitload of games in the list like Bayonetta, Gran Turismo 5, Dead Rising 2, Gears of War 2 (which is a surprise) and Metal Gear Solid: Rising, which is very surprising considering we know fuck all about it. Then again, the same can be said for DQX and TLR PS3.

Full top 30 is after the jump. Via GAF.

Posted in PlayStation 3, Square Enix with tags , , , , on July 8, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

square-enixSquare’s put up Final Fantasy II on the Japanese PlayStation Store for ¥600.

We just checked just now, after a heads up from the Examiner, its there. It comes mere weeks after Final Fantasy was released in Japan, which now means that both parts of Final Fantasy Origins, which was released for the PS1, are now on the store.

Only a couple of weeks ago, EU and US PS3 and PSP owners were treated to the PS1 classic release of Final Fantasy VII, but we’re gonna check in with Square Enix to see if there are plans to release more games on the PS3.
